Saturday was spent on the beach. It was very, very, very hot. Hot to the point that I gave up after a couple of hours and sat in the shade.
We went back to the Avra for our meal in the evening. Demetria, our waitress ("my girly") wished us a fond fair well even though she was working the following afternoon and we promised to call in. Jane excelled herself by stuffing away stuffed tomatoes and a tuna salad. I had a mixed kebab followed by some melon. The staff bought us our wine, which was nice.
Sunday started off a nice day and turned into the journey from hell.
We sat in the sun for a couple of hours and used the courtesy room to change around about 1 o'clock.
After changing we had lunch at Avra and then walked down to the post office. We posted our final cards and then bought an oil painting of Lefkada and a wooden cat as mementos for us. We then returned to the Delfini Pension and had a cold drink.
We were picked up by coach at ten passed four. On our approach to the airport our rep told us that that our flight was delayed. This, he though, would be about 2 hours. In the end it turned out to be 2 and a quarter hours. We arrived home at 2 o'clock this morning. Am I glad I booked today as holiday!
Our wait at the airport was uneventful, save for a quick trip to a taverna across the road for some refreshments.
