Age passed into the realms of indifference for me when I was 39. The world came crashing in then. In the intervening 11 years my birthday has mattered more to other people than me.
Yesterday was very enjoyable. Brunch at the coffee roast was excellent; The Magazines was quiet but not empty, the beer was as well-kept as ever and I won at Scrabble. Intermittently throughout the day I received phone calls from a variety of people some of which were wholly unexpected.
The smattering of cards that arrived contained some surprises too.
It may not have been the day that'd I'd pipe-dreamed about 10 year ago but it was enjoyable, none the less.
