The holiday didn't start too well. We arrived at Manchester Airport nice and early. Unfortunately, we were 14Kg over our baggage allowance - this cost me £70. We were stung for 10Kg on the way home as well. I think Mrs. Moor's going to pay me a little more attention when I complain about the stuff we take with us each year. Having got thought that little crisis we were then faced with a 1 hour and 40 minute delay. We arrived in Poros at about 6 o'clock.
We stayed in the same apartment as last year which made for an immediate at-home feel. We had a quick dip in the Ionian Sea before preparing for our first evening out. (There's nothing like swimming in a warm sea at 7 o'clock in the evening).
We met Dave and Jo at our traditional first evening taverna - Dionysus. This is run by Costas who, according to Jane, looks like Sly Stalone.
For the first time in four visits the weather was generally good. We only had 2 days where we couldn't sunbathe. Quite a result.
The first few days were spent just lying on the beach during the day and eating in the evening. Our second night was at the Photis Family Grill house. George's triplets have arrived - they have 2 boys and a girl. We didn't meet them tough because we kept mistiming our visits.
Makis and Maria have had a really good year. We visited them 3 times - Katerina came with us the first and second time. At the end of the second night Makis and Maria joined us at the Cactus Bar for drinks. Jane and I left them to it at about 1:30. We were walked home by Scruffy. When we were in our apartment I sent Dave a text saying we were back and that the pooch should be with them soon. Apparently it cracked Makis up completely when the dog walked back in about 5 minutes after.
Oh, sod it, this is taking too long.
Then we did loads of other stuff and had a jolly good time.
