I'd forgotten how clever XTC where at writing songs (and I really like the design of that site). I haven't really heard any new XTC songs since Orange and Lemons, whenever that was. Your Dictionary is rather smart; I really like the idea of all those rude words wrapped up in such a sweet melody.
Hmmm, I can't link directly to the lyrics, so here they are:

Your Dictionary

Lyric by: Andy Partridge

Is that how you spell love in your dictionary
Pronounced as kind
Is that how you spell friend in your dictionary
Black on black
A guidebook for the blind

Well now that I can see my eyes won't weep
Now that I can hear your song sounds cheap
Now that I can talk all your corn I'll reap
I'm not so sure that Joey wed a Virgin Mary
There are no words for me inside your dictionary

Is that how you spell kiss in your dictionary
Pronounced as care
Is that how you spelt me in your dictionary
Four-eyed fool
You led 'round everywhere

Now that I can see it's the queen's new clothes
Now that I can hear all your poison prose
Now that I can talk with my tongue unfroze
I'm not so sure of Santa or the buck tooth fairy
There are no words for me inside your dictionary

Now your laughter has a hollow ring
But the hollow ring has no finger in
So let's close the book and let the day begin
And our marriage be undone

More on music (no pun intended)

What seems like an eternity ago my life was wrapped up in music. I was always listening to it, watching bands play it live or, 20 odd years ago, mixing it for local bands (the last of which being this lot).
Somehow all that faded away. I've no idea how that happened but I'm glad to say it appears to be coming back - and it's cheering me up!

I'm regretting it now.

I didn't go for a walk this morning because it was raining. I'm beginning to feel a little fuzzy around the edges.
I did promise myself that I'd go out no matter what the weather; serve me right.
Still, I suppose it proves my theory about getting some fresh air before starting work.
