Easter Monday.

A 'phone call at 10:30 in the morning brightened my day. It was Dave McDonnell with a suggestion of a few beers in the afternoon. He said he and Jo would come over to Wallasey. After consulting Jane I called him back and arranged to meet in the Telegraph at about 3 o'clock for a "couple of beers".

We were late (as usual) arriving about 3:20. We left the Telegraph about 5:30 and went to Stanley's Cask. We put Dave and Jo on the 9:30 bus back to Liverpool. By this time both of us were too drunk to do anything safely in the kitchen. So, the nice leg of lamb that had been roasting away slowly all afternoon was left to cool while we went to the chip shop.

I'm very glad I didn't have to drive anywhere today.
