The joy of mainframes.

The mainframe we use for development is in Chelmsford while we are in Hemel Hempstead. When I arrived this morning I had a call from Mick, who is working in the Birmingham office. He wanted to know why his batch jobs weren't running. A quick look at the config showed me that operations hadn't started class P (if you're wondering what I'm talking about, I'm talking about a GCOS7 system). Mick said he'd call them and ask them to start the class.

A few minutes later Mick sent out an mail; apparently we had some new disks installed overnight and now things aren't working too well. Graham Johnson is tying to resolve the problems.

So, I'm waiting....
